About the Brewery...
This is one of Peter Scholey's creations. Peter was Head Brewer at the Brakspear brewery. Following its closure, he struck out on his own and set up at Ridgeway, not too far from his original stomping grounds of Henley-on-Thames. The brewery is named after the oldest road in the British Isles and Europe, running nearly 100 miles, past Stonehenge, as well as Peter Scholey's home.
About the Beer...
Ridgeway's Oxfordshire Blue is a distinctively hoppy, lively and refreshing beer that is the first bottle-conditioned beer to be brewed deliberately to taste great chilled. It is also unusual in that Ridgeway have used whole leaf hops in the brew creating a refreshing pale coloured ale with an enticing, slightly citrussy aroma. A biscuity, hop-filled bitterness is supported by an ample mouthfeel and a long caramel aftertaste. Get a few of these in the fridge and crack them open as soon as the sun is shining!
PLEASE NOTE: As this beer ferments in the bottle sediment will exist. As a guide store upright and pour extremely carefully.
